Mrs. Menchavez holds a Bachelor's degree in Politics and Latin American Studies from Princeton University as well as a Master's degree in Education. Mr. Quesada comes to Venetia Valley K-8 School as our principal with over 10 years of experience as a public school administrator. He began his career in education as an elementary and middle school teacher and worked through the ranks as an instructional coach and assistant principal. Mr. Quesada has also served as a district office administrator while at SFUSD. He has earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration, a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Venetia Valley is a community school where students, families, and staff are celebrated for who they already are and are supported in every way to become all that they aspire to be.

This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and well-being among our youth, improve the school learning environment and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. If you do not want your child to complete the survey, you must notify your school. Over the next couple of weeks, we will begin deploying Chromebooks to 6th-12th grade students who do not have access to a device at home. Critical to the success of the site work is collaboration with the school communities. Venetia Valley has a Site Facilities Committee that is currently meeting to lead in the project design, details and planning for implementation for the school's bond program work. 10/20 VV Construction Report
Students at VV will not be required to wear a school uniform. Students are allowed to self express themselves through their clothing all while following our dress code policy. All students should attend school in a manner that is appropriate, free from distractions and conducive to learning. No sleepwear is permitted, unless it is an approved school function, such as "Pajama Day." More details are available in the Student / Parent Handbook. The Site Facilities Committee is made up of teachers, staff, parents and community members.

They are joined by the project team, including architects, engineers, project and/or construction managers and school and District staff, in guiding the design and planning work at the school. The SRCS community ensures that every student receives an empowering education. High expectations and skillful individualized instruction enable each student to embrace their own learning, think critically and experience success. As in classroom instruction, physical education begins with the unique skills and abilities of each child and systematically develops aerobic fitness, gross motor skills, and sports-based skills. Our goal is to have students develop healthy minds and bodies that incorporate movement into their lives. For those of you that have selected Venetia Valley as your school of choice, we thank you!

I cannot express just how excited we are to have the opportunity to provide your child with an amazing educational experience! Our teachers and staff work tirelessly to ensure our Falcons are receiving a world class education as we implement 21st century learning. Venetia Valley is a school where all are accepted for who they are and where we do everything we can to ensure they reach their desired aspirations. Parents, guardians and families take a leap of faith in us everyday with the belief that our staff are exceeding the needs of our students. For that, we are humbled and honored to live up to that expectation and we will continue to strive for excellence. Today marks Day 20 of schools being closed in Marin due to COVID 19, not including the spring break, which is a full month of school time.

Thank you all for hanging in there and helping to support our students during this extremely difficult time. As things get more desperate for some of our families who are out of work and facing health issues, know you are in our thoughts. It will be a long time until we get back to some kind of normalcy again, and in the meantime please take care of yourself and your family. She began her career in education in Puerto Rico, then worked as both a middle school and elementary teacher as well as a dean of students and vice principal in San Jose. She was working as a faculty member at Reach Institute for School Leadership in Oakland before returning to San Rafael to work as the assistant principal of Venetia Valley in 2017. Starting her career as a bilingual teacher, Mrs. Menchavez has focused on language acquisition and expanding opportunities for emerging bilingual students throughout her years in education.
